The Premier League Board has confirmed

the winner of 2015/2016 Ghana Premier

League will earn GH¢ 120,000 (US$

30,000) as prize money,

GHANASoccernet.com can confirm.

This was announced at a ceremony on

Thursday to unveil the new trophy for the

Ghana top-flight.

In March this year, a meeting between the

Premier League Board and the Ghana FA

Emergency Committee unilaterally agreed

on the amount even if no sponsor came on

board.

With eight matches to the end of the

season, it is fair to say no sponsor will like

to come on board.

The league winner will be paid the amount

from the coffers of the Ghana FA even if the

association fails to find a sponsor for the

league.

This will reduce the financial burden on the

Ghanaian champion who will represent the

country in the CAF Champions League.

Wisa lawyer insist, the Dick was fake

5,000 Security Deposit

An Accra Circuit Court presided over by
Abena Adjin Doku on Wednesday ordered
hiplife musician Eugene Ashie aka Wisa to
make a security deposit of Ghc 5,000.
The Judge made the order following the
musician’s continuous absence in court. The
money will go to state coffers if Wisa fails to
show up in court on August 12, which is the
next hearing date.
Counsel for Wisa pleaded with the court to
have mercy upon his client since there was a
revelation that cannot be explained in open
court.
This was after the Prosecutor, Judith Asante
asked the court to issue a stiffer
punishment to the accused for
disrespecting the authority of the court.
It will be recalled that the Court on June 27
issued a bench warrant for the arrest of
Wisa following the refusal of the
musician to appear in court at
a time his case was being heard.
His lawyer, Jerry Avenorgbor, at the time told
the court presided over by Abena Agyin
Doku that he has not heard from his client
and does not know his whereabouts.
That was the third time that the Judge had
issued a bench warrant for the musician
since hearing of the case started.
Wisa Gried is standing trial for gross
indecent exposure, a charge he has plead
not guilty to.
